Countless people will tell me that they discover joy in doing the simplest things in life: giving food to people, sharing clothes, and just doing their job. How can that be? How can they do such simple stuff and still expect themselves and others to get better? They have experienced something special: the power of repentance. Repentance lets us expect to get better. Then the simplest stuff can do the most good.

Light in the Darkness: A World of Peace

I would suggest that peace is not tranquility, but it is wholeness. It is healthy relationships with the people around us and the rest of the world. Such peace is only possible through purification. Purified people experience peace with the people around them. 

Light in the Darkness: A World of Hope

Have you been gaining or losing hope? That's a much bigger question than our ages or even work situations can tell us. Sometimes people with tough lives are gaining hope, sometimes those in the best situations are losing hope. What's the truth about your future? That truth affects our present reality. It even affects what we love. And when we love what lasts, hope lives. 

 

Dream of a new world

I think a lot of us would like a new world. Daniel was shown a number of new worlds, but the one he got had a person much more like him than anyone else as king. 

The journey from forgetting to remembering God

Forgetting God might look like a lot of different things. It could mean flat out thinking he doesn't exist. But it could be a lot of other things, like simply having a small God or having such a large view of ourselves that there isn't much space for anything else. Moses takes us on a journey from forgetting to remembering God. The key isn't our memory - thank God!
