The mostly untrue things we really need to stop believing: I need to make something of myself

If you've been trying to make something of yourself - to make your own worth and value in the eyes of others - how has that gone? Might it be time to take on the rightness of someone else? 

 

We're just part of the mission, but we are part of the mission.

There is quite a bit of polarization between religion and secularism. Hardly a day goes by when we don't think of a religious person who is so passionate to talk to us or a non-religious person who just wants to be left alone. It feels like quite a mess. 

Paul brought us much of this challenge with his Christian mission. Today in Acts 13:38-52 he gives us a way through the challenge too. We'll take away a more humble view: we're just part of the mission (not the whole thing), but we are part of the mission.
