Forgetting God might look like a lot of different things. It could mean flat out thinking he doesn't exist. But it could be a lot of other things, like simply having a small God or having such a large view of ourselves that there isn't much space for anything else. Moses takes us on a journey from forgetting to remembering God. The key isn't our memory - thank God!

While it is nice to think that faith is just a personal thing, we miss out on a lot if we believe this. We miss out on becoming who we are. That's something that we really only get to do together, as the community gets to see Jesus.

There is quite a bit of polarization between religion and secularism. Hardly a day goes by when we don't think of a religious person who is so passionate to talk to us or a non-religious person who just wants to be left alone. It feels like quite a mess.
Paul brought us much of this challenge with his Christian mission. Today in Acts 13:38-52 he gives us a way through the challenge too. We'll take away a more humble view: we're just part of the mission (not the whole thing), but we are part of the mission.
